Ceibal improves self-esteem in Children Almost 80% of public school principals surveyed by Anep felt that getting the XO helped children self-esteem, as well as increased they said the motivation to work in class.
directors of 200 public schools, urban and rural, were surveyed by Anep and Latu to assess "social impact assessment and educational Ceibal."
The data shown are representative nationally, although this is a preliminary report . The survey was conducted in June, when in Montevideo had not begun to deliver the computers.

In 89% of inner city schools and 40% of rural schools there is connectivity, while 23%, mostly rural, there is not.

82% of respondents said the internet connection is working correctly, while 12% said they do not. The radio signal coverage allows 4% of children connected to more than 100 yards from the school. The other connection achieved within the research center and less than a block away.
56% of managers felt that the connection speed is good or very good, while 30% said it is acceptable. 14% of respondents considered it poor or very poor.
Based on the criteria of speed, simultaneous connections, radio coverage and stability, developed the index of connectivity, that 48% of respondents felt well or very well.
Conservation
XO Almost half of schools (45%) keep a record of the conservation status of computers, while nearly half (49%) did not ago.
"It would be interesting to encourage schools to take a unified register of the conservation status of the XO" is suggested in the preliminary report. "This is of particular importance to know the real situation of availability and conservation status of distributed resources, since not all users call the call center to record incidents."
Of all the rural schools surveyed, 80% carried on parent information meetings and 70% trained teachers. No such activities conducted between 5 and 7% of the institutes surveyed.
Impact
A 82.3% of managers surveyed said they Ceibal computers motivate students to work in class. addition, almost 80% said that XO helped the self esteem of children, mostly those living in adverse environments.
Almost 40% of directors felt that the Plan Ceibal positively influence attendance.
86% of managers said they agree with Ceibal significantly improves access to information by families. In contrast, 4% of managers disagree with that statement.
